YUVRAAJ
I stood there for as long as I could, hoping for some miracle to happen. But I knew she wouldn't open her eyes. It has been 10 years now.
The person lying lifeless in front of me is the only thing and the only hope that has been keeping me sane all these years.
The machines are beeping, and the pipes attached to her body are somehow keeping her alive. I don't know if she is still there, if she knows that I'm watching her.
I slide my hands in the pockets of my pants and take my phone out, and dial a number. "It's time," I said as soon as the person picked up the call.
A part of me wants to stay here forever, hold her hands and caress her face, but I know what I have to do. "The doom of the Bedi family," I whisper to myself as I squint my eyes in anger.
I take one last look through the glass door at the person lying lifeless inside it. I kiss my fingers gently and press them to the glass, hoping it will reach her.

As soon as I get in the car, my phone rings. I pick up the phone with one hand while working on my laptop with the other.
"Hmm...hmm..yes..okay," I replied as the person on the other end was explaining everything to me. Closing the laptop, I looked outside the window of my Mercedes, watching the city pass by.
I had been preparing for this moment for a long time. Today, I was one step closer to my aim. I couldn't help but smile at the thought. The beginning of destruction starts today.
.
.
.
The Mercedes stopped outside the gate of the Bedi mansion. I stepped out, telling my driver to go away.
I took off my black glasses and looked firmly at the golden nameplate. "The Bedi House". Something shifted in me in anger. I could feel my eyes turn red and my jaw clench.
The same house that took everything from me, destroyed me, and turned my life into a living hell. But today was the day that I would take everything back and destroy the name of this house. I controlled my anger and calmed myself down.
I went inside the huge gates, where a guard stopped me, checking my ID. I handed it over to him.
"Kabir Singh?" he cross-checked me. "That is me," I replied. He showed me the way inside. What a fool.
I was directly escorted to the hall. My eyes landed on Rajat Bedi and his son Vikram Bedi. My fist rolled in anger when I saw their faces. I took a deep breath to control it.
I have been practicing to manage my anger. I have to. If I have to be around them, I have to perfect myself in hiding my emotions. I cannot let them know who I really am.
"You are?" Vikram questioned. "Kabir. Kabir Singh," I answered, my voice devoid of any emotions.
"Ah, yes. You are finally here. Vikram, this is the bodyguard." Rajat exclaimed. Vikram nodded.
Vikram called upon his secretary. "Check his profile and all the files. And let me know if you find anything slightly suspicious." He said to his secretary, looking sternly directly in my eyes.
I held my gaze. Watch me, Vikram Bedi. Look me in the eyes as much as you want. These eyes hold so much fire that even your ancestors will burn in it.
.
.
The secretary was a woman in her late 20s. Wearing a white puffed blouse and a black pencil skirt reaching just above her knees. She had been eyeing me since the time I had entered the house. She had a notorious, faint smile on her face, her lips deep red. Not my type.
She took me to a room which was more like an office chamber. I sat on the couch placed there, while she took the files from her hands. She deliberately brushed her fingers on my hand. I ignored her.
She started scanning the pages of my files. As if she'll find anything, I smirked. Meanwhile, I turned my head and looked around the room.
Rajat Bedi was planning to fight the elections again. I had to stop him this time, expose his dirty secrets to the world, and ultimately destroy his empire that was built on innocent people's blood.
"Interesting. Trained sniper, archer, eight-time MMA champion!" She said, impressed by my profile.
"Everything's clean and perfect."
She came to me and handed over the files. While touching my shoulder, she said, "Looks like I'll be seeing you every day from now on." She winked at me.
"Do not touch me ever again, girl," I said sternly, my voice heavy.
"Tara. Call me Tara." She said. She went to the table to pick up a pen and some papers. She turned her head around, looked at me, and smiled from over her shoulders, while she deliberately leaned over the table, letting her short skirt expose more of her thighs, right above her buttocks. Oof, the audacity.
I turned my gaze to the right corner of the ceiling, looking directly at the CCTV. She might have forgotten, but I had noticed everything the moment I stepped inside the room.
She followed my gaze and looked at the cameras. Her face went pale. She stood up straight, cleared her throat, and came towards the couch on which I was sitting.
"Here, sign these papers, please." She handed over the papers. "Sure," I smirked, looking at her stupid face.
.
.
.
"Tara told me that everything is clean. We can discuss your salary now." Vikram said to me. These poor b'stards will pay me? I can buy their entire goddamn empire twice.
As soon as we were finished, he said to me, "You can start from today. Ananya has her classes. Go with her to her college today. Stay close to her. And keep an eye out for anything suspicious."
Ananya? Who is she?
I thought I would be Rajat's or Vikram's bodyguard. I did not know Rajat Bedi had a daughter, too. She had been kept protected from the media and the outside world.
They needed a personal bodyguard for her, and that made her the perfect precious little pawn in my game.
Still, the plan was not going according to me, and I did not like this. I am a person who thrives on controlling everything and everyone around me.
I kept my composure. That as'h'le informant gave me half information. I will kill him for this. There is no room for mistakes when it comes to me.
I nodded to Vikram, without saying anything. I did not want him to notice the shift in my expressions. The years of training had perfected me in this.
.
.
.
I waited for her in the hall. I was standing with my hands in front, one over the other, wearing my black glasses. I was supposed to escort her to the college today.
What the hell am I doing? This is not what I had in mind. I thought. I shrugged off the thought, calming myself down.
Time passed by.
My eyes drifted to the stairs as I finally saw her descending the stairs.
It's not that I hadn't seen beautiful girls before. Girls with huge t'ts and perfect round a'sses. God knows of my sins that I've committed in the darkness of nights. But in this moment, I could not understand what had happened to me. I felt this sudden twitch in my right hand. Something raw and primal arose in me.
I tightly clenched my hand into a fist and took a long breath. It's just another girl. I said to myself.
"H..hello, I'm Ananya...Ananya Bedi." She said as she came close to me.
"Kabir. The bodyguard." I replied, my voice devoid of any emotion. Your protector, and your destruction.
